Mega Geable, the second of the Geable Series, was Andrusi's second and most successful comic. It was launched in early 2002, at the Bob and George forums.

Mega Geable[edit]

Like most comics seen at the BnG forums, Mega Geable was a Mega Man sprite comic prominently featuring its author's self-representation (two such self-representations in this case, the omnipotent "author avatar" Andrusi and the robot Amplitude), showing heavy BnG influence, with aspirations of eventually being featured on the BnG fansite. Unlike most comics, Mega Geable's sprites were almost universally taken from or styled after Mega Man: The Wily Wars, a compilation released for the Sega Genesis, which used a graphical style not seen in other Mega Man games.

The distinctive sprites, the strange title, and Andrusi's odd, MC-influenced sense of humor won the comic several regular readers in its early days. Encouraged, Andrusi continued making the comic as the strip count entered the hundreds, despite frequent (and often bizarrely long) delays between new installments. The comic became, if not famous or especially popular, at least something of a BnG Fancomics forum fixture; it was noted partly for its relatively high quality, but mostly for its sheer longevity in a field where most comics were weak efforts that disappeared quickly.

For most of its lifetime, Mega Geable was hosted on Andrusi's NCSU webspace. In January 2006, with his college career well past the halfway point, and having already used the site for his other comics, Andrusi moved Mega Geable to the Comic and Hoax Archive, where it stayed for the remainder of its run.

Mega Geable GIS[edit]

As Mega Geable continued and Andrusi's skills improved, he became increasingly dissatisfied with Mega Geable's history, littered as it was with the bad ideas of a beginning sprite comic author. He began making vague plans to reboot the continuity. These feelings became stronger with the move to the Comic and Hoax Archive:

I decided that that was the absolute last time I was going to do that, simply because there is entirely too much Mega Geable, entirely too much of which is total crap (especially early on), to be worth the effort.

As a result, when the Comic and Hoax Archive was shut down, Andrusi declared it to be the end of the current version of Mega Geable. He simultaneously announced plans for a new version, entitled Mega Geable: Generally Ignored Subtitle, which would take the main idea and better elements of Mega Geable and incorporate them into a rebooted comic intended to share continuity with Somewhat Cure, featuring improved visuals (to match Andrusi's current skill level). After a long delay owing mainly to Andrusi's laziness preventing him from making a site for the comic, Mega Geable GIS was finally launched on August 3, 2008.

The final installment of the original Mega Geable was "#592: Somewhat strange," uploaded on April 1, 2007 as one half of an April Fools' Day joke in which characters from Mega Geable and Somewhat Cure had their scripts accidentally switched.
