SERTek is short for SER Technical Support. It is put at the beginning of topic titles when the user creates topics in the message board to let other SERers know that the topic is about asking for help on some given technical issue. This can be anything of a technical nature including wifi, websites and computers.

History

The practice originally developed while the community was on the Moogle Cavern where the label used was MTS standing for Moogle Tech Support. [Who was the first to do it?]. It was used constantly through the forums in dealing with anything from drivers to computer upgrades and so forth. Occasionally it was parodied or extended such as MLS (Moogle Life Support) when an MC/SERer was asking for help on a particular life issue such as how to deal with someone else in their life or a decision to make. On the moveover to Sonic Eats Rings, there was a brief bit of debate over what to rename MTS to[1] but SERTek one out simply through people liking it and using it in their threads more.
At certain times, there was even a dedicated forum for technical support but currently, there is only one for "Archived" SERTek threads that have been concluded satisfactorily.

Notes

During one April Fools day, Kulock redesigned the MC web page so it became Moogle Technical Support.[2]
