Sonic Adventure is the first 3D [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] title released for the Dreamcast in Japan in 1998, and on September 9th, 1999 in the US. It was met with mostly positive reviews. The title started the whole 'Eggman awakens ancient monster' trend which has been used as the same tired storyline over and over again. In the game, Sonic is on a vacation to Station Square, a giant New York-like city by the beach, where he meets an aquatic monster known as Chaos. Sonic later learns that Eggman intends to feed Chaos the seven Chaos Emeralds in order to 'perfect' him and rule the world.
