Long, long ago, back on The Moogle Cavern ezBread, there was a fad involving using HTML tags to make fake posts, break the forum tables, and so on. At some point, Andrusi worked out a specific piece of HTML code that would restore the page to its normal appearance after a previous post had broken the tables. He included within this code a fake post by one Page Repair Droid, a robot whose sole purpose was presumably to fix broken pages.
Andrusi constructed a sprite of the Page Repair Droid, and soon began using "him" as a normal fake post, upon which he started to become a distinct character. On March 13, 2001, Andrusi registered Page Repair Droid as a separate ezBoard account, using it to post occasionally.
On more recent boards, Page Repair Droid has been rarely seen around the forums--the tables being generally unbroken, multiple accounts being frowned upon, and Andrusi himself being a moderator (which would make the Droid seem redundant)--but has remained present, making occasional appearances in add-ons and in comics (primarily Geable Geable Goo), and is mentioned in some welcome posts.
His personality varies; most frequently, either he is sarcastic with a mean streak, or he is competent and friendly but with an odd programming error that garbles his words into nearly nonsensical babble ("My special eye saw my distant cousin! But that's okay, he's dead now."). He has been consistently implied to be merely one of many Page Repair Droids, which would explain this difference.
