Biography[edit]

Amy Rose is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. She is a pink hedgehog who is always trying to win over her hero Sonic, who is completely terrified of her and her constant advances. She first appeared as a damsel in distress kidnapped by Dr. Wily and Metal Sonic in Sonic CD (1993). When Sonic rescued her, she was immediately smitten with him. In the 90's, Amy Rose did not appear often in Sonic games. She has only appeared in spinoff titles, such as Sonic the Fighters, Sonic Drift, and a few games on the SEGA Pico. She became more popular in 1999 with Sonic Adventure, where she was a playable character, and has since appeared in many other titles, such as Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Portal, Sonic Unleashed, Mirror's Edge, and Halo 3, among other titles. She also appeared in the anime series Sonic X.

Her current relationship status with Sonic is unknown. In February 2009, she was spotted at a formal event with Sonic's rival Knuckles the Echidna. Whether this is due to Knuckles being a gentleman and taking Amy to the event in place of the asshole hedgehog or Amy having a change of interest after witnessing Knuckles flexing muscle remains to be seen.
