On the original EZboard, the thread was started by Zhan D'Vega (then known as Knuxedo Mask), and its modest goal of 1,000 posts was attained fairly quickly by Nik Jam. Many landmarks later, the lofty goal of 10,000 posts was set, and eventually attained; the actual 10,000th post being made by SonKnuck.
